2009
December
- Tom Wright argues last case of the year in the Texas Supreme Court. The issue is whether the Texas Indemnity Statute applies to homebuilders, subcontractors, homes, and structural elements of homes. Click here to link to Texas Lawyer article. Click here for link to a video of the oral argument.
- Wanda Fowler and Shelley White argue in the Fourteenth Court of Appeals on the issue of whether the statute of limitations should be tolled for the number of days a Texas resident leaves the state on vacation.
- Jessica Zavadil, for the Appellee, argues case to uphold a motion vacating an arbitration award in the Ninth Court of Court Of Appeals. The issue was whether a valid arbitration existed between the parties. The trial court concluded that there was not and vacated the arbitration award.
November
- Portrait of Harvey G. Brown, Jr. is hung in the 152nd Judicial District Court where he served as judge from 1995-2002.
- Tom Wright and Russ Hollenbeck try an insurance coverage case with Frank Piccolo of Preis & Roy in the 129th Judicial District Court to a favorable jury verdict.
